The Laboratory of Mining Informatics and Machine Learning Applications is the research and training center of the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering in applied informatics in mining and geotechnical projects and the environment. It is fully equipped with modern computing systems and advanced software packages which are currently used by the mining industry in Greece and abroad. Students and researchers of the Department have the opportunity to use the Lab’s facilities to develop applications and solutions using real data from industry.
Our personnel has many years of experience in mining and has offered specialised mining informatics services to companies in more than 20 countries. These services include resources/reserves estimation, mine planning and scheduling studies, training in the use of advanced software, and development of special applications. The contribution of the laboratory to the dissemination and implementation of specialised software packages has been recognised by the companies that develop them as well as the companies that use them.
